What is Day of the Dead?

Day of the Dead is a beautiful ritual in which Mexicans joyously remember their deceased loved ones. They create altars dedicated to their ancestors, celebrating their lives with their favorite foods, drinks and music.

The free event hosted by Corazón Healdsburg and the City of Healdsburg on Sunday, October 28 will start at 12:15 p.m. on the Healdsburg Plaza which will be transformed with two stages for Latin dance and music performances. In the spirit of the traditional Día de los Muertos event, a community altar will hold the remembrances of ancestors, friends, relative and loved ones. In the spirit of community, we will share in a posole feed. In the spirit of nurturing open-heartedness, we will give our children an outlet for play and creativity--all with the backdrop of live music.
