Promotoras prepare Lola’s Market team for the unexpected

Our dedicated promotoras, Dora Ortega and Gloria Nieto, recently led a LISTOS emergency preparedness training for the staff at Lola’s Market. With support from Erica Gutierrez, our community engagement manager, they led the team with a high-energy program designed to equip participants with the tools and knowledge needed to be prepared for the next natural disaster or emergency.

Each graduate left with a certificate and an incredible emergency kit, packed with emergency essentials like a flashlight, water, energy bars, first aid supplies and a hand-crank radio.

Promotoras are uniquely suited to lead these kinds of initiatives. Their deep roots in our community, shared experiences and community engagement training make them effective ambassadors for Corazón and our message of resilience and community preparedness.
